Charleston Harbor Sailing

We can offer a wide variety of options for sailing on a day-to-day basis. Whether you want to start the day off early with a morning sail, a light afternoon sail, a beautiful sunset sail, or even combine any or all together! Llibertat is ready to go and at your disposal for whatever you can think of. Our minimum is a 2-3 hour tour (from dock-to-dock) which allows you to get to the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge or Fort Sumter and then back to the dock. This is perfect if you're looking for a taste of yachting but we find that most people like to add an extra hour of time which we can accommodate easily. With the additional time we can go past the Ravenel Bridge up the Wando or Cooper River, out through the jetties past Fort Sumter to catch a look at the Atlantic Ocean, or even just pull into a nice cove and anchor for some swimming.

A Typical 2-3 hour Tour onboard Llibertat:

We always ask our guest to show up 15 minutes prior to the charter time so that we can give a mandatory safety and boat briefing before we leave the docks. Once the briefing is done the adventure begins. We leave the docks of the Ashley Marina and make way into the Charleston Harbor. As we go, we pass by some of Charleston's infamous landmarks like the Charleston Battery, Waterfront Park and the historical Castle Pinckney and then turn around nearby the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge or out near Fort Sumter where the Civil War began.

We host small groups of 6 guests or less. We allow guests onboard to participate as much or as little as you would like. If you would like to practice taking out the sails or even grab onto the helm for a while and pilot the sailboat we can accommodate. If you're onboard to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life then we will make sure you have the most comfortable seat onboard and your mind is at ease. We want to make sure that your time with us is unforgettable.

Onboard Llibertat we have 2 refrigerators. One refrigerator we keep fully stocked with bottled water, Sprite, Coke, and Diet Coke. The other refrigerator we keep ready for you and any alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages or food items you wish to bring onboard. We do offer gourmet catering options through one of our local gourmet establishments in Charleston called Caviar & Bananas. Check out our catering page for more details.

For special occasions like proposals, anniversaries, bachelorette parties, or more we want to make sure your special day goes perfectly. Therefore let us know how we can help and we will do our best to make sure everything goes according to your plans without giving any hints to that special someone you are trying to surprise. We can also provide a professional photographer to catch the special day on camera.

Charter start times vary throughout the year as the sun rises and sets at different times year round. Therefore morning sails can start anywhere from 7:30AM in the winter to 9:30AM in the summer. Our afternoon charters also vary from 11:30AM in the winter to 1:30PM in the summer. Our sunset sails are all 3 hours long and in the winter our sunset sailing charters typically start around 3:00PM and in the summer they start around 5:30PM. Upon booking we will be able to confirm with an exact time schedule. Sunset charter sails are the most popular in Charleston so we do suggest that you book well in advance for a sunset sail.

If you are planning to book but also looking at the weather and unsure if booking is a good idea for that day we suggest you go ahead and book. The weather changes quickly in Charleston and as we all know, the weather man/woman is not always right.

Delightful Afternoon

A delightful 2 hours sailing from Charleston Harbor. Wit and Mireia are a great Captain and First Mate. We learned about historic and fun facts of Charleston and even saw a few dolphins! They have a small dog named Popsicle that our daughters fell in love with. It was very relaxing because it was a private sailing, so just our family and no worries about having to social distance.

Pro tip - book 3 hours and ask for their catering options.

Best boat rental in Charleston

My friends and I were visiting Charleston and absolutely had the best experience with blue life charters! Literally they couldn’t have been more accommodating to us and were so nice and made our time on the boat the best experience we could have asked for! Will definitely be booking again!!!
